Countryfestivalen på Vinstra 8 Juli 2005

Vi gleder oss til å spille på Vinstra Fredag 8 Juli, dagen etter Dwight Yoakam! Hvis det er biletter igjen, løp og kjøp!
Tirsdag 31 mai spilte vi Per På Hjørnet i Oslo. Knall artig sted å spille, takk til Arild som booker og bartender Roald! Vi håper å få komme igjen.

Per På Hjørnet 31.5.2005

Vi runder av Mai måned med en Tirsdags kveld på Per På Hørnet. Sjekk forresten hjemmesiden til PPH (se LINKS) Der kan du se en god del notabiliteter som har spilt der.
Ellers spiller vi på Vinstra Country festival 8 July. Minner om at Dwight Yoakam spiller kvelden før. Løp og kjøp billett!

Howdy all!

Back from some fantastic days in New York and Austin. I saw the Allman Bros in New York and Derek Trucks really blew my mind. What a fantastic guitar player. My friend Jan introduced me to Milano's, a very nice bar on lower Manhatten. (Don't remember the street for strange reason)
SxSW in Austin was awsome. The ultimate events this year was a duo concert with Mavis Staples and Marty Stuart at the convention centre at 10pm. That was truly a fantastic experience. Then I heard Marty Stuart solo at the Cactus Cafe. I didn't beleive my ears when he said that this was the first time that he stood alone on stage to do the singer/songwriter thing. I was there on his solo debut! He did a great show.
The I headed down to Austin Music Hall to see Blind Boys of Alabama and Mavis Staples. BBoA was great and in the break before Mavis Staples I was thinking if Marty Stuart would come on stage with Mavis Staples. So he did, for the whole set and they even treated us with "The Weight"! I just doesn't get better than that! Go get Mavis Staples CD "Have A Little Faith"! To top off the evening I met and got to talk to Jerry Hall. She was very sweet and let me take her picture when I told her that my friends would never beleive that I had met her. So I got a very nice shoot of sweet Ms Jerry Hall! Other concerts that are worth mentioning is one with the Grascals, great bluegrass band (get CD!) and one with Shooter Jennings. Shooter rocked like h.. He's a rock'n roller, just like his old man, I guess.
There are a lot of things going on outside SxSW also and luckily I got to see Red Volkart and Bill Kirchen also this year. My two favorite guitar players, beside Lars Albrecht, and it is just such a thrill and inspiration to hear them and Dale Watson live at Texas Cafe, Ego's and Continental Club in Austin. My friend Morten Vestly also played Texas Cafe and Red Volkart and Chris Wall sat in with him. Lucky Guy! I also heard Sunny Sweeny. She's playing Vinstra this summer and you should definitly go there to check her out.
Of course you don't leave Austin (Guitartown) without some axes so I got myself a nice Gibson acoustic and a nice mandolin to bring home.
16 April I'm playing with Morten Vestly and his Hometown Heroes at the Country Cruice with Color Line. Great band and I'm really looking forward to that!
Maybe I'll see you there.

Howdy all!

In March I will be off to Austin tx for a few weeks with friends enjoying the fantastic music scene there. There is the SxSW festival and hopefully Red Volkart and Bill Kirchen on Egos. The last times I have been to Austin, I have also been lucky to catch some shows with Junior Brown and also Kris Kristoffersen. Last year I also saw Dwight Yoakam at La Zona Rosa, I recommed everybody to go to Vinstra to see Yoakam there on July 7th. (I am playing Vinstra the day after, stick around for that) Also looking forward to see my good friend Morten Vestly play at Texas Cafe in Austin. (Check out his album "Hometown Heroes") I will be playing with Morten at the Country Cruise on April 16th. Looking forward to play with him and his great band.
